1-day Snapshot Seminar - October 7, Chicago
"E-waste" is rapidly becoming a major issue for scrap recyclers and processors. To protect the environment and the health/safety of employees and others, scrap recyclers and processors are under increasing pressure to handle these materials responsibly.
As a result, the U. S. EPA recently issued Responsible Recycling Practices ("R2"). And the Basel Action Network has issued the e-Stewards Standard. Both of these voluntary standards set forth guidelines for the responsible recycling and reuse of electronic equipment.
And, as with ISO 14001 (the international environmental standard), scrap recyclers can now become certified to R2 or e-Stewards.
So, as management of e-waste becomes more urgent for scrap recyclers like you, what do you do about these standards?
This one-day Snapshot Seminar gives you all the facts. For R2, e-Stewards, RIOS, and ISO 14001, you'll learn just what you need to know:
- Origin, sponsorship, scope
- Key requirements
- Similarities and differences
- Guidelines for compliance
- How to get certified
As with all Kantner & Company seminars, this one is fact-packed, value-added, hard-core practical, with handouts, and time for questions and answers.
The course is hosted by Rob Kantner, president of Kantner & Company, Inc. Since 1993 he's helped dozens of scrap recyclers / processors successfully implement quality, environmental, and health/safety management systems.
